Emily Gunter

Emily (she/they) was first introduced to circus in 2014 when she took a flying trapeze class with her mom, but it wasn’t until she discovered pole dance in 2016 that she really fell in love with the world of circus arts. These days her favorite apparatus also include flying pole and aerial chains, although she loves exploring any sort of movement practice that lets her get upside down. She also loves handstands, yoga, belly dance, martial arts and flow arts, so she basically never stops moving!

As a coach, she loves helping students of all levels discover their strength in the air. She believes aerial arts should be accessible to all, and that everyone can benefit from developing a deeper connection to their bodies. Her classes are high energy, supportive, with carefully tailored progressions so everyone can leave class feeling successful. With a background in massage therapy and personal training, she is a self-described anatomy geek and loves sharing her knowledge of the human body with others to help them unlock their potential.
