About our Performers
Melissa Sim & Robert Brumm
Robert and Melissa have been doing duo trapeze together for about 7 years. They are forever working on improving their technique, and love puzzling together new sequences.
Cadaxa Chapman Ball
As a PhD student, Cadaxa spends too much time sitting at a desk. Aerial silks have given them the space to breathe, to get back in their body after spending too much time in their head. They are looking forward to sharing what they have learned at their second performance at New Moon.
Canruo Zou
Canruo began her journey two years ago, drawn to the freedom and emotion of movement in the air. Through playful, heartfelt performances, she brings stories of love, joy, and discovery to life, creating moments that feel both grounded and weightless.
Ashley Tee
Ashley found her home in a hoop almost two years ago, thanks to a spur-of-the-moment decision. After learning and relearning from her mistakes and finally settling into movement she can call hers, she’s thrilled to roll with the New Moon crowd in her first performance here.
Anders McConachie and Kali Esancy
Kali and Anders are the local remaining half of “Adults Doing Stuff OK”. This will be the last local group performance of ADSO for the foreseeable future as the group continues to scatter across the world. Both Kali and Anders train across various aerial disciplines and apparatuses. This is their first time performing duo trapeze.
Jyoti Mahanandia
Jyoti was looking for an aerial yoga studio 3 years ago but accidentally wandered into an aerial silks class instead—and it was love at first flight. She never made it to that aerial yoga studio, but now she’s thrilled for her very first aerial performance!
Laura Smestad
Laura took her first lyra class in 2021 as a way to escape the pandemic blues and to overcome her fear of heights. When she’s not in the hoop, Laura is a clinical mental health counselor and professor who loves adventuring in the PNW.
Cheryl Carp
Cheryl entered into the world of aerial arts 3yrs ago after a lifetime of admiration from the ground and she hasn’t looked back. She is humbled to be a part of this amazing community.
Vicky Thrasher
Vicky has been doing aerial for the past 6 years starting on silks and trapeze before transitioning to lyra during covid. This is the second time Vicky has performed in the New Moon student show and excited to be showing a more dynamic routine.
Danielle Connor
Danielle has been doing aerial for the past three years. After having found sling just one year ago, she is grateful to have found a means for grounding and artistic expression.
Brittany Drew
I’m an adventuring artist. Climbing and aerial have been a fun move and make things outlet outside of working on Halo and doing watercolors. This act I’m performing at almost 6mo pregnant, so it’s out of my usual silks comfort zone for a lower key (literally) act!
Ali Whitmore
Ali is a fine arts student at Cornish College of the Arts. They enjoy the full body expression that aerial provides in contrast to working mostly with their hands at school. They are excited to share their first official performance with you tonight.
